JWA Equipment Featured Supporting Marine Mammal Rescues on BBC Breakfast

JW Automarine is proud to have its specialist marine rescue equipment featured in recent coverage by BBC Breakfast, highlighting the vital work of British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

The segment showcased BDMLR volunteers responding to marine mammals in distress around the UK coastline, an effort supported by purpose-built equipment designed to aid safe rescue, stabilisation, and refloatation of animals such as whales, dolphins, and seals.

JW Automarine works closely with BDMLR to design and manufacture a range of critical rescue and training equipment, including:

Whale stretchers and lifting systems for the safe handling and transport of large marine mammals

Rescue pontoons used to stabilise and refloat stranded animals

Training equipment, including life-size inflatable whales and seals, enabling volunteers to practise complex rescue scenarios in realistic conditions

This specialist equipment plays a key role not only in live rescue situations but also in the training programmes that prepare BDMLR’s nationwide network of volunteer marine mammal medics.
